=== The Marches ===

The uttermost borderlands marking the edge of the northerly [[The Snarl|Snarl]]. Though most of the Marches were undeveloped settlements such as the ancient duchies of [[Elfheim]] and the rugged city-state of [[Winterwend]] along with a handful of orcish fiefs and human hamlets marked the edges of the civilized lands.

=== The Wildered North === 

The miry forested region inhabited by eclcetic peoples including powerful feudal powers. As of the [[The Great Reckoning|Era of Humanity]], the once dominant dwarves had abandoned their high halls and closed themselves within the mountain-home of [[Bekla]] for fear of annexation by the Highpriest. Similarly, the Strix and Vishkanya had long since retreated to their hidden city of [[Sun-In-Shadow]].

The centerpiece of the region was the Kindly Mountain, a fire-spewing peak with roots stretching between shores. On the inland sea near the westernmost shore lay the [[Isles of Umbra]], an archipelago blanketed in eternal night.

=== The Nameless Lands ===
 
A mountainous lowland area which is home to tribal human cultures, the most prolific of which were the wizard-kings of [[Ion]] and the dreaded [[People of the Dragon]]. The Holy House of [[Vestige]] marked the political axis of the Nameless Lands and was administered directly by [[the Highpriest]] and his Dicasterial See. 

=== The Unapproachable South === 

A highland region of mountains and deserts where the dunes stretched endlessly toward the Snarl. The late empire of [[Bel-Ka-Trazet]] once administered much of the Holy Desert, but after a brutal secession power instead fell to the local baronies and fiefs.
