Salvage Operation
The crew of the Chimera journey to the wreck of the HPMS Javelin, an Incorporate war barge from the twilight of the Last War, in hopes of recovering a superweapon allegedly mounted on the ships mortar. During the operation they are menaced by glitch-gremlins, hazardous radiation, alloid ship-stealers and a mad android crewmate. As they return to their vessel to recover, they find it has been seized by hostile ship-stealers, and are forced to fight to drive the invaders out!

After rescuing their vessel and getting their bearings about them the spacers return to the Javelin but find that their way is barred by a locked bulkhead. In order to secure the requisite access codes they must outmaneuver a pair of ferrous eeze and pilfer the desk of the ships chief engineer. With the way forward open the spacers make for the missile command. There, they retrieve the weapon and make preparations to return it to their employers. Their mission complete, the spacers are compensated for their service and set off in pursuit of their next mission.

The Night Terrors
The spacers undertake a security job on a remote socialist alien colony where the citizens find themselves assaulted by malignant forces hellbent on tearing down the constructs which protect them from their hostile homeworld. Their employer is the straight-laced liaison of the Board of Solidarity, an alien by the name of Uuuuliuuu, who sets them on their mission shortly after they make landfall.

During their shift the spacers find themselves paired with a crew of space-pirates in league with the commissariats who join them on their watch over the TR6-88 Municipal Datacenter. Despite the pirates' off-putting presence the spacer's vigil continues well into the late hours without any sign of trouble.

Soon, however, the spacers discover the grim truth behind the sabotages. An alien contamination in the colonies water supply has turned the colonists, as well as their fellow watchmen, into savage sleeper agents in thrall to a strange intelligence calling itself the “Invisible Hand”. With minimal casualties they manage to halt the somnambulants assault and save the data center after which they reconvene with their employer.

In an amendment to their initial contract the spacers agree to trace the corruption to its likely source: the aquifer underneath the TR6-88 Munincipal Waterworks. There in the bowels of the planets underbelly they do battle with the thralls of the Invisible Hand before confronting the being itself, which had masked its true whereabouts behind a psychic projection. When Inferno is almost struck dead by one of its minions, the spacers negotiate a hasty truce with the Invisible Hand but swiftly betray their promise once it turns its back on them.

When the spacers return to collect their reward they are confronted by the mastermind behind the colonies ruin, the security minister Jules Ardynna, who threatens to do away with the them with a powerful explosive should they fail to help her in covering up her illicit operation. The spacers are able to disarm her, however, by thinking on their feet and pacifying her implement before it can detonate. Secure in the knowledge that the Incorporates subterfuge has been thwarted, they then bid farewell to their employer and set forth on their next mission.
