In retaliation, a host led by Judge Gideon was sent to annex Bel-Ka-Trazet. After a prolonged and grueling struggle the Trazian legion fell to the Judges tribunal. As of Humanity 90, Bel-Ka-Trazet operated as an independent diocese in the church of the Highpriest.

this was a city-state in The Lands of the Highpriest located on the borderlands where the the Snarl encroached on the world.

Government
The ruler of this held the title of Marquess and traditionally stepped into their role with the popular support of the noble families. They ruled alongside their royal diet which was assembled from local thanes and governors. Marquesses served for life, but could volunteer to resign and nominate their successor. The duty of the Marquess was to manage the city, state military, law and foreign policy of the crown. The responsibility of ruling their subjects, collecting homage and settling local disputes instead fell to the vassal families, who managed the smaller fiefs and thanedoms outside the city walls.

Society
thisers believed in the value of free thinking, courtly love and feudalism. They preferred to dress in colorful, patterned garments and dresses topped with feathered bonnets and fur caps. Many Winterwenders practiced slavery as a form of penalization for especially egregious crimes or as ransom for prisoners of war. Freedom, it was said, was something to be earned and not something to be taken for granted.

Districts
The Bazaar
A market plaza where local produce, artisans goods and exotic wares were plied. The area was traditionally managed by the Guilds, the foremost of which were the glaziers and pulp-makers guild. Every Frithday a market fair was held by the Royal Caravan Company which was traditionally attended by the marquess and their diet.

The Diplomats Quarter
An enclave district which housed foreign delegates and visiting nobles. It contained chanceries, forums, embassies and courts as well as inns and other places of hospitality catering to foreign visitors. The centerpiece of the district was the Pantheon, a temple complex which housed icons of all major and minor deities as well as reliquaries belonging to numerous saints.

Toponymy
The name of this is a compound phrase which translates as "The Seat of the Kingdom of Thrasos"

Culture
Trazians were unique for holding the royal family to a near divine veneration. Statues of kings and queens shared platform with the gods in temples, and many thought the monarch capable of performing miracles. After the annexing of Bel-Ka-Trazet, however, idolatry of the king and royal family was forbidden under the Highpriest law.

History
By Humanity 82 the Cult of the Royal Gens had began to waver. By this point many temples and clergies among the common folk had began to recognize the orthodox teachings of the Highpriest, some even leaving the Cult entirely. In order to prevent the further influence of rival powers King Æthelbald II began a mass persecution of adherents to the Highpriests church.

The crew of the Flaccid Thruster journey to the wreck of the HPMS Javelin, an Incorporate war barge from the twilight of the Last War, in hopes of recovering a superweapon allegedly mounted on the ships mortar. During the operation they are menaced by glitch-gremlins, hazardous radiation, alloid ship-stealers and a mad android crewmate. As they return to their vessel to recover, they find it has been seized by hostile ship-stealers, and are forced to fight to drive the invaders out!

After rescuing their vessel and getting their bearings about them the spacers return to the Javelin but find that their way is barred by a locked bulkhead. In order to secure the requisite access codes they must outmaneuver a pair of ferrous eeze and pilfer the desk of the ships chief engineer. With the way forward open the spacers make for the missile command. There, they retrieve the weapon and make preparations to return it to their employers.

this was the last Grand Duke of Elfheim.

Description
Like other men of his family Aillas had pale brown hair which he wore short. He was often described as having lively emerald eyes and a calm demeanor. His regalia consisted of a coif and laurel headpiece along with an ermine mantel and loincloth. As a saint, his attributes showed The Highpriest's Treaty-Sword piercing his lungs.

History
Aillas was the first and only Grand Duke of Elfheim. For one-thousand years he kept the peace between the great houses and was regarded as an especially egalitarian and sophisticated ruler. Besides his duties as Grand Duke Aillas mastered traditional elfin singing and poetry, mathematics, archery, falconry and philosophy. Some claimed Aillas was a living Saint or an angel sent by the Gods to usher in the Age of Elvenkind. When he was killed in single combat against The Highpriest many flocked to sing the praises of Saint Aillas. His cult remained a powerful authority in Elfheim as of '107.

this was a powerful ecclesiastical authority and tributary overlord in the east of the world. He was the Supreme Hierophant of Saint Miriam, the Vicar of the Gods, the Power of the Sun, Magistrate of the Judges, the Lord of Ceremony and perhaps the most powerful mortal in living memory. His seat of power was the megalopolis of Vestige in the Nameless Lands.

The Church of the Highpriest
The Highpriest's Church was the most prolific religious dogma in The Lands of the Highpriest. It had its roots in the traditional rites of sun-worship and veneration of the Pellucid Pantheon. Those in the demesne who did not adhere to the church's teachings or who recognized false or dead deities were called by the pejorative pagan. In order to combat pagan dogma, the Highpriest employed the Judges.

The church administered its tribunes (called Dioceses) by means of the Dicasterial See, a curia of episcopal deacons and ministers who ruled individual parishes and answered directly to the Supreme Pontiff, who himself was directly appointed by the Highpriest.

Other branches of the Church included the Sacerdotal Depository, which was the central bank of the demesne.

History
Legend stated that the first person to bear the title of Highpriest was a warrior-priest from a small kingdom in the Nameless Lands during the Era of Dragons. He was granted power by the gods to dethrone the adversary and charged with ruling the earth in her stead.
